Set up WhatsMiner Tool in a predictable order so miner discovery, password updates, API enablement and pool changes are easier to validate.

Extract and launch
Use a dedicated folder on a trusted Windows PC connected to the miner LAN.
Add IP range
Open Miner IP management, add start and end addresses for the subnet and save the range.
Start scan
Run discovery and confirm that detected models, IPs and status match the physical fleet.
Update credentials
Change default admin passwords before enabling API operations or third-party control.
Apply settings in batches
Use small groups for pools, reboot, firmware or power actions before scaling changes.

Separate tool, API and firmware checks

WhatsMiner Tool is a workstation utility; its ZIP is not a miner firmware image. A firmware family name is not enough to authorize a flash. Start with a read-only check on one miner, keep the original configuration and redact secrets from diagnostic logs.

Verify the result on one selected miner
Before a batch operation, record the selected miner’s IP, model, installed firmware and current pool. After the operation, compare the miner interface with the tool rather than relying only on a submitted-task message.
- Pool change: confirm the endpoint and worker on the device, then check that the pool reports accepted work.
- API access: verify a read-only request from the intended monitoring host; keep access confined to the management network.
- Firmware update: confirm the installed version and stable readings after restart before updating another device.
